Serenade to Music

Symphony San Jose Chorale marks the 100th anniversary of the passing of Giacomo Puccini, one of the most celebrated opera composers, with a concert featuring the composer's only major sacred work - Messa di Gloria. The program also includes Gabriel Faure's Pavane that evokes the elegant Spanish court dance of the same name while tugging at our heartstrings with its haunting theme and mesmerizing orchestral writing. The concert opens with Melody by Ukrainian composer Myroslav Skoryk, a piece often described as the spiritual hymn of Ukraine.
