About this Performance
Commemorating 80 Years of Peace
A Historic Performance of The Yellow River Cantata
Honoring the Past. Shaping the Future.
In 2025, we mark the 80th anniversary of three momentous events: the end of World War II, the conclusion of the Sino-Japanese War, and the founding of the United Nations. These milestones remind us of the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring pursuit of peace.
To commemorate this historic moment, Symphony San Jose and the Chinese American Organizations proudly present a landmark performance of Yellow River Cantata, composed by Xian Xinghai.
The Yellow River Cantata, inspired by China’s “Mother River,” is a moving tribute to the resilience of a people and the power of music to uplift and unite. This performance will serve as both a solemn memorial to the past and a powerful call for peace in our shared future.
Join us for an unforgettable evening where history and harmony meet—celebrating the universal language of music as a bridge across generations and cultures.
