I am currently principal viola of the Sacramento Phiharmonic and Opera and assistant principal viola of the Berkeley Symphony. I am also a member of the Santa Rosa Symphony. In the past I have also performed with the New York City Ballet.

Most memorable musical experience:

Performing the opera The Prisoner by Phillip Glass at his Days and Nights festival and working with the composer.

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing:

Probably driving a semi truck. Or running a Taqueria.

Hobbies:

I play fantasy baseball, and go to a lot of games. I like to cook Mexican food and BBQ, and enjoy traveling with my wife.

Favorite vacation spot:

Any place with a beach.

What three things can always be found in your refrigerator:

Pickles, tortillas, and at least five kinds of cheese.

If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be:

You don’t need to drink that.

Do you have a “bucket list” piece of orchestral music that you have yet to play:

I’ve never played The planets by Gustav Holst, and there are a few Mahler Symphonies I have yet to sink my teeth into.
