Most memorable musical experience:

I make an effort to cherish performing whenever I have the focus and mental space to do so, so I am lucky that I am sitting here having such a difficult time picking just one! However, I had the opportunity to do a recital with my mom during my time at LSU, and we played a transcription of the Faure violin sonata together. The process of digging into it with her and performing it is something I will never forget!

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing:

Teaching English! As a musician one of my favorite things is teaching and getting to share my enthusiasm for music, so I feel like it would transfer pretty well to geeking out over books and the discussions that come up over themes and characters.

Hobbies:

Following the NBA/NFL/CFB seasons, running, reading, going to concerts, camping/backpacking, and playing video games.

Favorite vacation spot:

New Orleans – laissez les bons temps rouler!

What three things can always be found in your refrigerator:

Milk for coffee, leftovers from meals I make on Sundays to last me the week, and beer.

If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be:

Always put yourself out there.

Do you have a “bucket list” piece of orchestral music that you have yet to play:

St. Matthew’s Passion by JS Bach
